We’re back! From our January trip to the Dallas Market Total Home and Lighting Show. Boy the feet sure do get sore from walking the miles of showrooms; but there are so many new and exciting new things to see that you just want to keep going!
One of the big trends for the coming year is the retro look. Lots of metals in dark finishes or mixed with silver tones…and yes, brushed copper and gold. The industrial feel was everywhere; fixtures and furniture in rustic woods, wire mesh, rope and even some string art!
Upcycling is still popular, a trend that fit in well with the retro-industrial look. Upcycled metals, glass, natural materials and fabrics. Always admire designers that can take something old and make it new again.
Open fixtures with Edison style light bulbs was another big look. Again fitting in well with the retro feel. There are many new styles of the Edison bulbs available; loved the ones with spiral filaments and smoked glass.
And…of course, LED was everywhere. LED is becoming the new standard to replace compact fluorescent and incandescent. Many new LED light bulbs options are now available, especially in the smaller lamps for pendants and sconces.
Guess it’s time for a sale to make room for all the new and fun items that will be arriving over the next few months! Be sure to watch our Blog for that announcement.
